I want to know what he said to her while she was in the ICU. If he was giving her last rights and talking about what ‘happened’ religiously, the ‘Go to God’ quote makes a lot more sense. That experience during ICU delirium and all the medications she was on… that makes for a horrifying hallucination landscape. I’m so angry.

I also want to reiterate that there is plenty of research that patients in a medically induced coma can still hear and often report either directly hearing conversations around them or dreaming about it. So any talk about the crime around her could have easily slipped into her dreams. That’s not even taking the ICU delirium into account. I work both ICU and ER. I, like everyone else thought this was a clear case. It was literally hearing the extent of her injuries and hypothermia the first week that had me lock into the case because I knew immediately that she was innocent and I have been appalled ever since. It is not a good time to have adhd and justice sensitivity lol.

I’m a Catholic living in Ireland. A priest here would NEVER get as involved in a tragic situation, as this truly is, with our law enforcement department and the wider community. Our priests minister to the direct family and close friends IF THEY ASK FOR THAT HELP!!!!They NEVER express an opinion on the details of the case, or the condition of the assumed perpetrator or what “might” have occurred. People in the communities here are very private. Of course we sympathise with the families involved, but would NEVER get this involved. Communities show their support and sorrow through peaceful vigils. The clergy of course can be present, but will NEVER influence the thought process of those saddened and distressed. I can never understand the level of influence that Church leaders, whatever faith group, have in the U.S. This is absolutely not the case here in Ireland. We live in a far more secular society!!! I find the Catholic Church in the U.S. far more held in a haughty position than here in Ireland. Must be the American obsession with faith/Christianity/religious identity!!!!!!
