to everyone reading this, you’ll always be considered fat by someone somewhere. even if you’re skin and bones, you will most likely still have image issues. that’s 2026, get over it and enjoy yourself.

Started at 250 now at 235 after 2 months. After years of making excuses I finally began taking my calorie deficit seriously, it’s been a good journey so far but I’m ready for the plateaus and the bad times. Love the journey and not the end goal

I've been both, very thin and frail, my collarbones where sharp, and quite overweight. It's easier to live with some extra weight even laying down, when you're too thin bones do hurt, it's quite overrated

As a former 230 lb woman, i agree with this. It's such an inconvenience that you don't even realize until you see how much better things get.

In the early hours of 22 March 2003, two Royal Navy Sea King helicopters collided in darkness over the northern Arabian Gulf. Among the seven men killed was 35-year-old Lieutenant Antony Richard King — a husband, father of two, and experienced naval aviator. Known as Tony, he grew up in North Somerset and joined the Royal Navy in 1987, aged 19. He earned his wings as a Sea King Observer in 1990, specialising in navigation, radar and airborne surveillance. He served aboard HMS Ark Royal during the 1991 Gulf War and later deployed to the Adriatic in 1996. In 1994, he married Sarah, whom he had known since childhood. They settled in Helston, Cornwall, with their two children, David and Molly, and bought their dream family home in 2001. By March 2003, Tony was serving with A Flight, 849 Naval Air Squadron, part of the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm. Operating from HMS Ark Royal during Operation Telic, the squadron's radar-equipped Sea King helicopters were supporting coalition forces, including Royal Marines operating on Iraq's al-Faw Peninsula. At approximately 1.30am GMT on 22 March, one Sea King was returning from a surveillance mission while another was departing. The two helicopters collided around five miles from HMS Ark Royal. All seven aircrew — six Royal Navy officers and one United States Navy officer — lost their lives. The collision was not caused by enemy action. Tony had recently been selected for promotion to Lieutenant Commander. His wife later told an inquest that he had hoped to leave the Navy after another deployment to spend more time with his family. He was laid to rest at St Andrew's Church Cemetery in Congresbury, Somerset. He was subsequently awarded a posthumous Mention in Despatches for his work improving the transmission of airborne radar information to military commanders.
