@hhhnewz: A heavy police response unfolded in Hawaiʻi Kai around 10:45 a.m. today, 11|05|26, along Kalanianaʻole Highway near Puʻuikena Drive. Approximately nine police vehicles were reportedly at the scene, including six positioned on the opposite side of the highway. Multiple officers reportedly had rifles drawn and pointed toward a white sedan before ordering two individuals out and placing them in handcuffs. Westbound traffic was reduced to one lane at the time. Earlier, HPD reportedly responded to Hanapēpē Place after someone allegedly pointed a Glock handgun at their roommate before fleeing in a white Chevrolet Impala, last seen heading west on Lunalilo Home Road. Additional information indicates the vehicle HPD was searching for reportedly had license plate TPJ 925. It has not been confirmed whether the detained individuals or the vehicle at the scene were connected to the earlier gun threat, whether anyone was arrested, or whether a firearm was recovered. Anyone with further information or footage is encouraged to reach out.
