Years ago I was engaged to my high school sweetheart and everything was amazing (looking back honestly too good to be true kind of situation) The only thing he was a bit weird about was his work laptop but I understood because he was an abuse support case manager and had confidential information about his clients & court cases on it so he had to be careful. Everything was going good, no reg flags or anything... Then 8 days before our wedding I was checking the mail and there was a piece of paper in there with no envelope, no address, etc, clearly hand delivered and the only thing written on it was "He's lying about his job." I was taken aback and thought it was a friend pranking me or smth.. It kinda stuck in my mind but I didn't press it, a few days later (4days before our wedding) I was home like normal and noticed his work laptop sitting on the kitchen counter under some folders (it looked like maybe he'd forgotten it in a rush) I originally was going to text him and let him know he left it but something in me thought back to that letter in the mail and in a split second I decided to just check, I'd never done that before and felt anxious but I couldn't shake the feeling. I got in right away using the same password he used for everything else which I thought was a bit weird and just clicked on a random folder which opened to hundreds of pictures of children being abused. My stomach sank and I remember just feeling so lightheaded and sick. I immediately called 911 and reported it and less than an hour there were police & federal agents in my home. After an investigation they found over 50,000 photos and over 100,000 hours of CSAM on that laptop and other devices of his. I was completely blindsided but fully cooperative with everything and just had so many emotions all at once. It turns out he *was* lying about his job and was bringing home money from distributing CSAM. To this day I don't know who left that note but I'm so glad they did. He's in prison, I've been through hoursss of therapy and I'm now married to a literal angel thats helped me through it all. It's so true that you really don't know anyone 100% and to trust your gut!!

My husband was talking to a really weird guy years ago in a hotel bar in Burlington, Vermont. It was an odd conversation that he never forgot. Years later he was reading about a serial killer, Israel Keyes. He remembered the guy and the odd conversation. He is almost sure it was Keyes.

I once married this guy who was abusive literally as soon as we got married. During a fight one night he threatened to kill me and said “he’s done it before he can do it again” I thought he was just saying stuff to scare me (because my dad always said some bs during fights too) but after we had separated I received a call from the feds stating they were looking for him for 3 counts of murder and believes he had killed a 4th person that had went missing a few months prior. He stayed on the run for a while until they were closing in on him then he kĩllẽd himself to avoid prison

In France. I was at my uncle housse, I was out and end up speaking to his neighbor with 2 dogs. Years later he call us and told us the Guy how killed a little girl was that man and he try to isolate me like he did for the little girl...

I dont know how people deal with this. Im still reeling that in the military, I did my job with others in my career field over a military chat room, and seeing as a fully staffed shop of ours is only 6 people per place, we knew our colleagues decently well. One of my favorites to bounce thoughts off of got arrested a few months ago and plead guilty to beating his wife to death with a hammer.

My mom got in a small altercation with a guy that was picking on her at a house party. He pulled out a knife and they made him leave and she said weeks later she saw him on America’s most wanted 😀

Not a serial killer but my aunts brother is the one who kidnapped Elizabeth Smart. I was supposed to meet him 3 times that year but something came up each time. I was very similar to Elizabeth in many ways.
