@galeher.home: Today one of my best friends asked me a question that I’m actually really glad she asked. “Why does it seem like your health keeps getting worse?” And I realized that from the outside, it probably does look that way. But here’s what people don’t see. For years, I lived with chronic pain and relied on over-the-counter pain medication just to get through everyday life. Now, because of my liver disease and heart condition, my pain relief options are extremely limited. My heart is actually doing BETTER since having my stent placed. But the pain I’ve lived with for years is much harder to manage. And through my journey with Mayo Clinic, I’m finally getting answers about things I’ve dealt with for decades — some since birth. These aren’t new problems. They’re problems I’m finally addressing instead of just learning to live with. And before I started sharing my health journey, most people only saw me dressed, smiling, with my hair done, going to work and living my life. They didn’t see what it took to do those things. So no, I’m not getting worse. I’m getting diagnosed. I’m getting answers. I’m getting treatment. And in some very important ways, I’m getting better. ❤️ #ChronicIllness #InvisibleIllness #ChronicPain #MedicalJourney #MayoClinic
