Sometimes the best photography adventures happen when you take the backroads, slow down, and see the world from a different perspective. 🍂📸 My drive to Norfolk, Nebraska, found myself capturing the beauty of fall colors and finding unique compositions along the way. One of my favorite techniques is shooting from a low angle, using fallen leaves, grass, or the landscape as foreground to create depth and draw your eyes into the photograph. Look for opportunities to frame your subject through tree branches, allowing the natural surroundings to add layers, perspective, and a sense of connection to the scene. Sometimes moving just a few feet or changing your camera’s height can completely transform an ordinary photograph into something extraordinary. One of the most important lessons in photography is learning to see the light before you ever press the shutter. Pay attention to how sunlight filters through the trees, where shadows fall, and how the contrast between light and dark creates mood and dimension. For those beautiful sunburst effects, try narrowing your aperture to f/11–f/16, positioning the sun so it’s partially hidden behind the edge of a tree trunk or branch. This was a breezy day so I sway back and forth slightly until the starburst comes into the angle I’m seeking, and use a high shutter speed to capture the image I want. This creates those stunning rays of light while maintaining detail throughout the landscape. Watch your exposure to preserve highlights, and don’t be afraid to embrace shadows rather than eliminate them. Great photography isn’t always about finding the perfect location. It’s about recognizing the beauty in the light, the details, and the moments others might overlook. 🍁 #FallPhotography #PhotographyTips #Nebraska #LandscapePhotography #AutumnVibes
