They don’t do autopsy unless foul play, because that cost. If you want it you’d have to pay for it.

Unattended deaths are autopsied unless the medical examiner clears the decedent. They put it back because some religions have to be buried with everything. The funeral home does their best to make them look their best for your viewing. Would of been better if you didn’t know it’s changed how you remember her. Hugs to you. ❤️

Cremation is the way to go. Growing up I thought it was horrible but being buried, autopsy, embalming. Ughh I can’t Prayers for you momma

I know what you’re feeling. I was so trauma from my son‘s death half of his face was completely destroyed. My mother took it a mom herself when they called and asked if I would give My Son‘s organs and my mother said no when I got the autopsy report things were told by detail even what he ate to the last minute and what was the cost of his death I know what causes death from a hidden run, drunk driver. He was brain dead for them to open them up what says they didn’t take something we will never know but I know what you’re feeling.

I learned they did autopsy because of “unaliving” amongst other sudden deaths when I dealt with suicide.. a lot more than like to admit .. that’s why I want to cremated regardless is bad process

😢😢😢 I didn't know that either. My daughter had gone for an autopsy prior to the wake and service. We also had an open casket too 😢😥😢

It’s up to the dr that pronounced her because he has to have cause of death to put on her certificate. It’s unpleasant to think about. I’m sorry!!!!

Yes I believe they had to do it with your daughter. My friend took her life but they did autopsy to rule out anything suspicious. I understand why they have to do it but you should have even told.

they should have told you!! they should have. i’m so sorry. it was 100% explained to me & my son was only days old. i refused organ donation + autopsy in the end & so glad that we did 😭😭😭❤️🩹

They often do an autopsy for kids when it’s a sudden, unexpected loss. It’s to rule out foul play

I’m reading that even though people who have unalived must be investigated by the Medical Examiner to ensure that no foul play was committed, a surgical autopsy isn’t necessarily done. It depends on the facts and evidence of the individual case. I think you could find out for sure through Mass.gov, if you chose to. I’m so sorry that you were not provided with ALL the pertinent information at the time, especially as the parent of a minor child. Praying for you and your family. 🙏❤️
