It’s hard to believe there was a time when I wondered if I would love her. I almost don’t want to admit that out loud and I know I’ll be judged for it… but it’s the truth. When she was in my tummy and we learned she most likely had Down Syndrome, I was so scared. I had such a negative view of Down Syndrome (simply because I was misinformed) and I wondered if I would feel the same connection with her that I had with her older sister. And honestly, that fear didn’t vanish when they put her in my arms. I had to unlearn everything I thought I knew. I had to learn about HER, grow with her, and let her show me who she was… soon realizing she was much much more than her diagnosis. Now I understand what I didn’t then… it didn’t matter that she had Down Syndrome and it wouldn’t have mattered if she ever walked, talked or said “I love you back”. Because no matter what, she is my daughter… and I will love her just the way she is, forever. Loving her has changed me in the best way❤️ Video self modeling” - That’s what this is called.
