@routineofabroad: An Australian Subclass 186 permanent residency visa was reportedly cancelled after immigration authorities found no record of the visa holder working for their sponsoring employer following the visa grant. According to the case, Home Affairs cross-checked the applicant’s employment details with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) records. The records reportedly showed no employment history with the sponsoring business. Immigration authorities concluded that the applicant may have used the sponsorship mainly to obtain permanent residency rather than genuinely intending to work for the employer.
