142857 is an approximation, so multiplying it by 7 makes it not exactly 1000000, more significant figures makes it closer but only the full infinite amount makes it complete, same with saying 1/3 is 0.33 and multiplying both by 3 gives 3/3 or 1 being equal to 0.99

For each 1/7 times n, you keep an additional n/7 at the end. When taking the numbers at face value, you strip away the 1/7. At n=7, you lose 1. Meaning, the “999999” should be “1000000”, AKA the final 7/7.
