** at 8 weeks, I started spotting pretty bad… I automatically assumed I was having a miscarriage, I rushed myself to the ER after my working flight. I’ll never forget the ultrasound tech being so silent as she was conducting the ultrasound. I immediately thought the worse (not knowing at the time ultrasound techs aren’t supposed to deliver or tell you any information). As I was sitting in the waiting area, I received my results online. It appeared my uterus was just irritated and a possible subchoronic hemorrhage and baby was all fine. 2 weeks later, my primary doctor noticed a cyst on the babies umbilical cord and referred me to a maternal fetal specialist. The specialist explained she didn’t see a cyst, she saw an an Omphalocele (a condition where the babies abdominal wall doesn’t close all the way.. allowing bowel to protrude through the abdominal wall) she then referred me to another specialist. While waiting weeks to be seen at the last specialist, the nurse there reached out and explained what the previous specialist saw was normal for babies gestational age. (Not ONCE did the previous specialist reassure me that, she only made it very concerning and mentioned potential termination) In the screenshot you will see I asked for measurements and her response BLEW ME AWAY. How could a doctor not have the decency to contact me of potentially receiving incorrect imaging, considering how emotional I was in and after leaving her office. All praise to God, after being seeing at the new specialist my baby DID NOT HAVE A health condition she was healthy as can be. Always remember, God has the final say so. Pregnancy is not easy.. there are plenty of battles families are dealing with they don’t share. But I at least wanted to in case you too are going through tough battles. 💕 #fy #pregnancyjourney #momtobe
