@emmaallsopp_: Being a mum to teenagers is mentally exhausting… 😩 Because you’re constantly having to be the bad guy, even when your intentions are good. You’re not trying to ruin their fun. You’re not trying to control their lives. You’re not trying to stop them enjoying being young. You’re trying to teach them that the real world doesn’t bend the rules for you. That actions have consequences. That respect matters. That responsibilities don’t disappear just because you don’t feel like doing them. And that life doesn’t always give you what you want. And somehow, despite doing it all out of love, you’re still the worst mum in the world. 😂 One day they’ll hopefully understand that all those boundaries they hated were actually there to protect them, not punish them.
