Show it some LOVE! 🧀🔥 We’re taking two slices of bread and giving them a serious upgrade with five-minute sticky onions and a rich beer and cheese sauce inspired by traditional Welsh rarebit! 🛒 INGREDIENTS (Makes 2 slices) Sticky onions * 1 small onion, finely sliced * 1 tsp butter * 1 tsp balsamic glaze * ½ tsp brown sugar * Splash of water Cheese & beer sauce * 1 tsp butter * 1 tsp plain flour * 50ml Collider alcohol-free beer * 50ml milk * 60g Golden Hooves Mature Cheddar * ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce * Black pepper To finish * 2 thick slices of bread * Extra grated cheddar * Crispy bacon (optional) 👨‍🍳 METHOD 1️⃣ Five-minute sticky onions Finely slice your onion and fry in butter until softened and starting to colour. Add balsamic glaze, sugar and a splash of water. Keep stirring until reduced and beautifully sticky! 2️⃣ Cheese & beer sauce Melt the butter, stir in the flour to make a roux, then gradually whisk in your beer and milk until smooth and thickened. Finish with Worcestershire sauce and black pepper. 3️⃣ Bring it together Lightly toast your bread, pile on the sticky onions and generously spoon over that cheese sauce. Add some extra grated cheddar for texture, crispy bacon if you fancy it, then get it under a hot grill until golden and bubbling!
