@seasonsofyesterda: There was a sound every kid from the old days knew by heart. ๐ The crunch of the first car coming up the driveway on Thanksgiving, and then another behind it, until your whole quiet street was lined with cars that had no business being there. Inside, the coats kept piling higher on your parents' bed until they made a mountain of wool and corduroy you could practically climb. Aunts you only laid eyes on once a year grabbed your cheeks and marveled at how big you'd gotten. The kitchen ran thick with steam and overlapping voices, and somehow the same house you lived in every day felt twice as full and twice as warm. ๐ฆ For one single afternoon, everybody you loved was gathered under the same roof. No one was running late to anywhere, no one was anywhere else. It is funny how you don't realize you are living inside the best part until you are looking back at it. I would give a lot for one more of those crowded, noisy afternoons. โค๏ธ Whose house did everybody pile into for Thanksgiving when you were little, and how on earth did that many people fit around one table? #ThanksgivingMemories #ChildhoodNostalgia #70sKids #FamilyGatherings #TheWayWeWere
