🙏 DHAN DHAN SRI GURU NANAK DEV JI! | 557TH PARKASH PURAB & 26TH NAGAR KIRTAN 2026 🙏 🌸 A BEAUTIFUL CELEBRATION OF FAITH, UNITY, SEWA AND HUMANITY! 🌸 Today, November 7, 2026, the Sikh community gathered with immense devotion and love to celebrate the 557th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism and the first of the ten Sikh Gurus. The 26th Nagar Kirtan began from Gurdwara Sahib, proceeding through Liberty Avenue and Atlantic Avenue before concluding at Baba Makhan Shah Lubana Sikh Center in South Richmond Hill, Queens, New York. The streets echoed with beautiful Gurbani Kirtan, devotional prayers, and the spirit of Waheguru Ji. The Nishan Sahib proudly waved as the Sangat came together to celebrate the timeless teachings of Sikhism. 🏛️ THE HISTORY OF SRI GURU NANAK DEV JI Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born in 1469 at Rai Bhoi Ki Talwandi, now known as Nankana Sahib, Pakistan. From an early age, he shared a message of one God, equality, compassion, and respect for all humanity. Through his spiritual journeys, known as Udasis, accompanied by Bhai Mardana Ji, Guru Nanak Dev Ji travelled to spread the message of peace and devotion. He established Kartarpur, where people gathered to pray, work honestly, and share meals regardless of their background. His three golden principles remain central to Sikh life: 🙏 Naam Japo – Remember God’s name. 🙏 Kirat Karo – Earn an honest living. 🙏 Vand Chhako – Share with others and help those in need. Guru Nanak Dev Ji left this world in 1539, but his teachings continue to inspire millions around the world. 🏛️ THE HISTORY OF BABA MAKHAN SHAH LUBANA JI Baba Makhan Shah Lubana Ji holds a special place in Sikh history for identifying Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji as the Ninth Sikh Guru. His famous declaration, “Guru Ladho Re!” (I have found the Guru!), became an unforgettable moment in Sikh history. Today, Baba Makhan Shah Lubana Sikh Center, established in 1998 in South Richmond Hill, Queens, carries his name and legacy. This Gurdwara serves as an important spiritual and cultural center for the Sikh and Punjabi community, preserving Gurbani, Kirtan, Langar, Punjabi heritage, and the tradition of selfless service. 🌸 SPECIAL THANKS TO SIKH CULTURE SOCIETY! My heartfelt gratitude to Sikh Culture Society, South Richmond Hill, for its dedication to preserving Sikh traditions and bringing the community together. Special thanks to the management committee, organizers, volunteers, sewadars, Gatka performers, musicians, police officers, and traffic personnel. A special salute to everyone who prepared and distributed Langar and served the Sangat with love and selfless dedication. Your hard work and commitment made this 26th Nagar Kirtan a memorable celebration. 🙏 May Guru Nanak Dev Ji bless everyone with peace, happiness, good health, and prosperity. 🌸 NANAK NAAM CHARDI KALA, TERE BHANE SARBAT DA BHALA! 🌸 📍 Nagar Kirtan Route: Gurdwara Sahib → Liberty Avenue → Atlantic Avenue → Baba Makhan Shah Lubana Sikh Center, South Richmond Hill, Queens, NYC. ❤️ Follow, Like & Share — OP Singh From Manhattan New York. #GuruNanakDevJi #Gurpurab2026 #NagarKirtan #BabaMakhanShahLubana #SikhCultureSociety
