I put this chart together because I want Americans to look beyond political talking points and examine the household expenses that affect all of us every single day. Look at the three periods: Trump leaving office in January 2021, Biden leaving office in January 2025, and Trump in September 2026. The chart compares the annual percentage changes in gasoline, groceries, electricity, housing, energy, restaurant meals and other everyday expenses. There is an important distinction: these are year-over-year price changes at three different points in time, not the total accumulated price increases under each president. But they give Americans a starting point for asking questions and holding both administrations accountable. Biden inherited an economy devastated by the COVID pandemic, and Americans experienced substantial inflation during his presidency. Trump inherited an economy that had substantially recovered, and his current economic record deserves the same scrutiny. Nobody should get a free pass. AND NOW, A MESSAGE TO MAGA: Seriously, I struggle to understand how some supporters can continue defending Trump regardless of his actions, his rhetoric, or the consequences of his policies. Sometimes I wonder whether the appeal goes beyond the economy and political leadership. Is it the divisive rhetoric about immigrants, the attacks on minorities, and the racial resentment that critics believe his politics encourage? Does making certain people feel superior to others matter more than the economic well-being and dignity of all Americans? Because if equality, fairness, compassion and accountability matter to us, those values should apply regardless of which political party occupies the White House. You can disagree with Democrats. You can criticize Biden. You can hold both parties accountable. But blind loyalty to any politician should never come before the country and the American people. #TrumplsADisgrace #magacongressspineless #trumpcorruptadministration #trumpisdestroyingamericaseconomy #thebluewave🌊✝️🇺🇸
