The Consequences of the Conflict Between the KDP and PUK: The return to two separate administrations and the creation of the Yellow and Green Zones, each controlled by different military forces. Increasing disputes over oil, political power and the geographical areas outside the Kurdistan Region’s administration, particularly in Kirkuk and the disputed territories. The division of financial revenues, the emergence of economic crises, growing inequality between different areas and the strengthening of Baghdad’s influence. Furthermore, the Kurdistan Region has become an arena for regional competition between Turkey and Iran, while Kurdish unity in Iraq has become increasingly weak. The Kurdish people must not allow political parties to do whatever they want according to their own interests! The destiny of an entire nation must never become a victim of the ambitions and power struggles of a few authoritarian political parties. If these parties continue their destructive conflicts and threaten the national identity and political status of Kurdistan, only public awareness, pressure, and the conscious decisions of the people and civil society can set limits on this crisis and prevent the loss of all the achievements that have been made.
