Despite everything he is dealing with, Toby has shown a lovely personality at the shelter. 🐾 Very sweet 🐾 Curious and interested in his surroundings 🐾 Calm overall 🐾 Was able to be leashed and taken to the yard without issues 💔 TOBY HAS MULTIPLE MEDICAL NEEDS. Toby has been experiencing significant skin problems for approximately four months. His medical evaluation on 11/03 revealed: 🚨 Severe chronic dermatitis – causing intense itching, hair loss, thickened and darkened skin, irritation, and sores from scratching. 🚨 Heartworm positive – will need veterinary treatment. 🚨 Hip dysplasia – affecting both hips, worse on the right side. 🚨 Severe dental disease – needs further veterinary attention. 🚨 Urinary tract infection – urine testing showed inflammation and findings suspicious for bacteria. 🚨 Non-regenerative anemia – his body is not currently producing enough new red blood cells to compensate. Additional findings include damaged cartilage in his left ear, lenticular sclerosis in both eyes, and a mass beneath the skin over his left hip that needs further evaluation. Toby has already received initial treatment, including Cytopoint for itching, Bravecto, pain medication, and antibiotics. He needs continued veterinary care, monitoring, and someone willing to help him get comfortable again. 💔 TOBY CAME IN WITH ANOTHER DOG, APOLLO A1303115.
