@science.nature: TYLER PERRY IS JOINING GEORGIA’S NEW GOVERNOR’S TEAM. Three days after making history as the first Black woman ever elected governor in the United States, Georgia Gov.-elect Keisha Lance Bottoms stood inside the State Capitol on Friday and announced the team that will help her take office. She calls it “Georgia’s Promise.” And one of the co-chairs is Tyler Perry. Bottoms described him as “an entertainment mogul who is also a huge philanthropic part of our Georgia community and owns Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta.” Perry serves alongside Home Depot co-founder Arthur Blank, former Walgreens CEO Roz Brewer, Delta executive Richard Cox, Jason Carter, Michelle Nunn and others. Bottoms, the former mayor of Atlanta, has worked with Perry before. “Our goal is simple: to be ready to govern on day one,” she said. Bottoms takes office as Georgia’s 84th governor on Jan. 11, 2027. Do you think Tyler Perry is a good pick for her team? #8AtTheTable #Love
