@persecondnews.ng: EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede has described the discovery of an alleged illegal industrial complex in Ogere, Ogun State, as a major case of economic exploitation involving suspected foreign operators. Speaking to journalists during an inspection of the facility, Olukoyede said investigators found sites allegedly used for illegal petroleum refining, processing of high-value solid minerals, including lithium, and wood production for export. He also disclosed that the complex had its own power supply, warehouses containing lithium batteries, phone batteries and chargers, as well as hundreds of motorcycles suspected to have been supplied to guards protecting illegal mining sites. Olukoyede said the EFCC had launched an operation codenamed “Sovereign Wealth” to recover resources allegedly being exploited by the operators. He added that the agency would conclude its investigation, obtain court orders and involve relevant regulatory bodies to ensure legitimate operators take over the facilities. #nigerianews #nigeriannews #ogunstate #efccnigeria #efcc
