@skiweather: Norway, Sweden & Finland Ski Season Outlook 2026/27 | October Update Planning to ski in Norway, Sweden or Finland in 2026/27? Our October update uses Copernicus seasonal forecasts issued in October 2026 to look at the season ahead for six Nordic ski areas: Voss & Myrkdalen, Hemsedal, Trysil & Sälen, Åre, Narvik & Riksgränsen, and Levi & Ruka. We cover the early season, Christmas and New Year, January and February, and spring. Voss & Myrkdalen is the one area we rate less favorable: December through February snowfall is forecast about 14 percent below average, and the models agree. The other five look near average, though Hemsedal and the Narvik region dip below average in February. November looks warm and short on snow across all six areas. One bright spot: Levi has been open since early October, on snow stored from last season. We interpret Copernicus seasonal forecasts alongside historical weather and snow records to explain what the outlook could mean for your ski plans. Snowfall amounts in centimeters are estimates for the surrounding areas, rather than measurements or forecasts for individual ski runs. Seasonal outlooks describe broad monthly patterns; check local conditions and short-range forecasts before your trip.
