We share Tigrinya, traditional clothing, dancing, music, food, religious traditions and centuries of history. The ancient Kingdom of Aksum also covered areas of present-day Eritrea and northern Ethiopia. I respect Eritrea's independence and its separate national identity. But we cannot deny history. Modern political borders do not erase shared ancestry, culture and historical connections. Being two separate countries today does not mean our people have never shared a history. 🙏
