@newhamindparty: 🚨 URGENT: ENTIRE BLOCK OF FLATS WITHOUT WATER SINCE THURSDAY – WHERE IS NEWHAM COUNCIL? Residents living in a block of flats on Plashet Road, Green Street West ward, have been left without water since Thursday. This is absolutely unacceptable! ❌ No drinking water ❌ No water to flush toilets ❌ No water to shower or wash ❌ No basic hygiene facilities ❌ Bed-bound and vulnerable residents left struggling Imagine being elderly, disabled or bed-bound and unable to wash yourself or even flush your toilet for days! Residents are angry, frustrated and desperate. They have raised their concerns, yet they feel abandoned by Newham Council. Where is the emergency response? Where is the support for vulnerable residents? Where is the accountability? Today, Newham Independents councillors, including myself and Deputy Leader Cllr Sofia Naqvi, were on the ground listening to residents, providing drinking water and doing what we could to help families affected by this unacceptable situation. I spoke directly to residents, and their experiences are deeply concerning, as you can hear in this video. Access to clean water is a basic human necessity, not a luxury! I am calling on Newham Council to take immediate action to restore the water supply, provide emergency drinking and washing water, and ensure urgent welfare support for elderly, disabled and bed-bound residents. Residents deserve action, not excuses!
