As a Polish woman who witnessed all of this, for the first time EVER. Im deeply devastated. The images of people running for their lives, fighting to protect themselves and their loved ones, and desperately warning those around them will stay with me for a very long time. Even several hours later, I can still feel the adrenaline from those moments of trying to escape. The fear for my own life, but also the fear for the families running alongside me, desperately searching for shelter. Not everyone was as fortunate. For the families affected, this is an unimaginable tragedy.I was incredibly lucky. Its only with time that you begin to fully process what actually happened. As the adrenaline wears off, it leaves you with one haunting thought- what if i hadnt been so lucky?
