@tammonsta: Aaron spotted what looked like an ice sculpture sticking out of a Michigan lake — then realized it was a sandhill crane completely covered in ice! 🧊 Volunteers from Michigan Duck Rescue and Sanctuary carefully freed the bird, named Frosty, and brought him to Wildside Rehabilitation to warm up and recover. After several days of care, he was released back to the lake — only for rescuers to get another call the next day. Frosty had become frozen again, this time alongside another crane. Both birds were rescued, warmed up and eventually returned to their flock. The original finder later spotted them after the ice had disappeared, and rescuers believe they made it through the winter.
