It’s just overdone. Hiccup from HTTYD is the perfect example of a good adorkable character. He was one of the first characters with that personality, but also had a genuinely good arc showing him growing up and taking up the mantle as a leader.

I think adorkable can work really well in characters, people are just tired of seeing it in almost everything. Like, it made sense for Anna and Rapunzel to be adorkable as they were sheltered almost all of their liveable life, but the concept is just being overused (Disney particularly) and people just want to see actual diversity in characters again
