Baked Mac & Cheese 🧀🤎 I feel like everyone makes making Mac & Cheese Macaroni: 1 lb Elbow or Cavatappi macaroni 1-2 tbsp chicken bullion or Salt Ingredients: 1/4 cup butter (57g) 1/4 cup Ap flour (33g) 1/2 tsp garlic powder (Adjust to taste) 1/2 tsp mustard powder (Adjust to taste) 1/2 tsp onion powder (Adjust to taste) 1/4 tsp paprika (Adjust to taste) 2 1/2 cups heavy cream, room temp (600g) 1 1/2 cups milk, room temp (360g) 6 oz velveeta, cubed Salt and pepper to taste Cheese Blend (Divide into 2): 12oz Mozzarella 8 oz Sharp Cheddar 8 oz Colby Jack Prep: 1.) Shred all your cheese and divide it into 2 portions. ( 6oz mozzarella, 4 ounces Cheddar, 4 oz Colby Jack in each portion) 2.) Boil your choice of pasta with chicken bouillon or salt until al dente, (about 7-8 minutes) then drain and set aside while making your sauce 3.) Combine your milk and heavy cream in a pot and heat until warm. You can also use the microwave, you just want the mixture to be at least room temperature Instructions: 1.) In a large pot over med-low heat melt your butter, then whisk in your flour and seasonings. Cook for 1-2 minutes and once it starts bubbling and is slightly golden brown, slowly add the warm milk and cream to the pot starting with 1/4 cup at a time and whisking continuously as you add it 2.) Once you’ve added all your milk mixture allow to cook for 6-8 minutes and the sauce thickens. Once thickened turn your heat to low and melt in your Velveeta. Once your Velveeta is melted turn off your heat and add your shredded cheese a cup at time, while whisking continuously and until the cheese is fully melted 3.) Combine the cheese sauce with your boiled pasta, then pour into a 9x13 baking pan. Top the Mac and cheese with the other half of your cheese, then bake at 375F for 10-15 minutes and broil for 2-5 minutes until golden brown on top. Serve while warm and enjoy 🫶 **Tips/info: - Don’t overcook your roux as it can burn and taste bitter. You want too cook your roux for 2-3 minutes max! - Shred your own cheese! It makes a big difference - You want to slowly add your milk mixture while you whisk - Yes I used Velveeta, it helps with preventing separation and makes it creamier - Add your cheese a cup at a time to make sure it melts properly, and you want your heat off or on very low while you melt your cheese in because you don’t want to overheat/cook your cheese sauce #bakingrecipe #macandcheeserecipe #thanksgiving #christmas #EasyRecipe
