I think the correct phrase is “could have written” not “wrote”. Don’t mean to be the grammar police but a judge should know better. But also, it can be very hard to tell the difference between blue topaz and aquamarine. If the ring was given to her, she may have just assumed it was topaz but a jeweler would have known for sure. I do think this judge, as smart as he is, uses too much anger. He can be tough by being smart. Hard to tell if he is just an angry person or it’s for show, or both.. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️
