FYI it only counts if you’re buying to sell (trading), if you’re selling your personal belongings for less then you’ve bought them you don’t have to pay tax. If you sell a single item for £6k or more it will be taxed though.

But surely if you’ve paid tax on the money you’ve earned and then buy items with that money you paid tax on and then sell them items at a later date due to not needing them anymore and it ends up being greater than £3000 you’re expected to pay tax again on that money?
