@learningobserved: Unlike natural folate found in whole foods, synthetic folic acid requires medical caution or careful monitoring for many individuals. Here are some of the conditions and medications this can affect: - Undiagnosed Vitamin B12 deficiency (pernicious anaemia) - Inflammatory bowel & gut conditions (Crohn’s, Colitis & sulfasalazine treatments) - Coronary heart conditions (including those with heart stents) - Kidney disease & haemodialysis - Epilepsy & anti-seizure medications (like phenytoin) - Active cellular/oncology treatments (like methotrexate) - MTHFR genetic variations (reduced ability to metabolise synthetic folic acid) I just don’t understand why this is forced into everyday staple foods for tens of millions of people despite clear medical caveats…. and I can’t help but question what the real ulterior motive is here. What are your thoughts on mandatory food fortification? 👇🏽 #folicacid #ukhealth #foodautonomy #knowyourfood #realfood
nhs guidance actually says not to give folic acid under the age of 12, how many children have bread etc.. ridiculous

There’s always a motive!! What happened to eating foods that are natural in the vitamins we need instead of pumping food with artificial stuff 😟

There’s so many petitions, also good to note that alot of bakers (like warburtons, hovis etc) are also using the white flour during the process of making wholemeal so it’s in that too.
