The PATRIOT (MIM-104 Patriot) is a U.S.-developed ground-based air and missile defense system designed to detect, track, and intercept incoming aerial threats such as aircraft, cruise missiles, drones, and certain ballistic missiles. The name PATRIOT comes from “Phased Array Tracking Radar to Intercept on Target.” A typical Patriot unit is made up of several major components, including a powerful phased-array radar, an Engagement Control Station where operators manage the system, communications equipment, power equipment, and missile launchers. The radar searches the surrounding airspace and tracks potential threats, while the control system determines how the system responds. Patriot has several generations of interceptors: PAC-2/GEM missiles generally use a conventional explosive warhead that detonates near a target, while PAC-3 and PAC-3 MSE use hit-to-kill technology, meaning the interceptor is designed to destroy a target through a direct, extremely high-speed collision rather than relying primarily on an explosive warhead. PAC-3 MSE is a newer version with improved range, altitude, maneuverability, and performance compared with earlier Patriot interceptors. The system has evolved considerably since its introduction and is now part of a broader, layered air-defense network rather than being a single missile launcher operating by itself. #patriotmissle#airdefense #fyp#iranwar#usa@Lucas Tolmaci @dum dum rc @Ian Zeng @Carson (Kit) Roper @rc pilot fin @Thehomieedgar @Maxwell 🇺🇸🐟
