But when he returned to finish it, his voice had changed and those high notes were out of reach. Marie happened to be in the studio. Curb asked her to try the harmony, liked what he heard, and gave her more to sing. That unexpected change gave them their first record together, reaching No. 2 in Britain in 1974, before they had their own television show.
