I watched a mom celebrate waking up at 6:30 without hitting snooze, and all I could think was... 6:30 means I'm already running late. And she was sharing tips for waking up early before your kids, so OF COURSE I watched the whole thing. Because I cannot get myself up at 5 AM and I was like, hmm, maybe she's figured something out that I haven't. Haha. She's talking about how great it is to have that alone time to work out, how it's getting easier, and how proud she is that she didn't hit snooze on her 6:30 alarm. And then I chuckled to myself because I have to be up by 6 at the LATEST just to get my kids up at 6:30 and out the door for school on time. So if I wanted even 30 minutes to myself to work out, I'd have to be up by 5:30. And that's JUST the workout. No shower, no extra time to sit and drink my coffee. To her, 6:30 is early and a major accomplishment. To me, 6:30 is already late. And good for her! I genuinely mean that because I cannot get up early I've tried. But it reminded me how easy it is to compare yourself to somebody whose life looks completely different from yours. Money is the exact same way. Saving $1,000 might be huge for one person, and for someone else it's $10,000. Paying off $500 of debt in a month is a huge win for someone, and paying off $3,000 in a month is a huge win for someone else. And just because somebody else is saving more or paying off debt faster doesn't mean you're not making progress. That's why it's so important to focus on YOUR numbers, YOUR lifestyle, and YOUR goals. Otherwise it's so easy to get stuck comparing yourself to everybody else and feeling like you're behind, even when you're actually doing really well. #moneytipsforwomen #momlife #moneymindset #budgetingtips
