@capable.hearts: If friendship has felt hard for you, I want you to hear this. You might not be bad at it. You might be looking for it in places that are built for small talk. Parties. Mixers. Loud rooms where everyone chats about nothing. Many neurodivergent adults connect best around something they love. A game. A hobby. A book club. Something where you're doing something together, not just trying to think of what to say. So try this. Pick one place with an interest you actually like. Go at the same time every week. Friendship grows from seeing the same faces again and again. Then, when it feels okay, say one thing: 'I'll be here next week. Will you?' It's slow. And it can feel lonely while you wait. That's real. But slow is not the same as impossible. I'm Trishta Villalta, BCBA, Sexuality Educator. In my Dating & Friendship Club for neurodivergent adults, we practice exactly this, in a small group. Link in bio. #neurodivergent #neurodivergentadults #adultfriendship #makingfriends #capablehearts
