@japdmedia26: New York, USA — Attorney General Letitia James has promised to continue using legal action against powerful interests after winning re-election for another four-year term. Speaking to supporters at the SOMOS political conference in Puerto Rico on Friday, November 6, James criticized rising living costs and called for accountability from wealthy and powerful individuals. “Mortgages are too high, interest rates are too high, car insurance is too high,” She continued: “We’ve got to make sure all of the oligarchs that are at the top are imposing all of these high costs on New Yorkers and Americans. “I’m excited to get back to work and to use the law — both as a sword and as a shield — and sue baby sue with all of you! God bless you and thank you.” Although James did not mention President Donald Trump by name, her remarks attracted attention because of her long-running legal battles involving Trump, his administration and his businesses. Since taking office in 2019, James has reportedly brought more than 70 lawsuits involving Trump and his interests. One major case resulted in a $454 million civil fraud judgment against Trump's business over claims that asset values had been inflated. However, a New York appeals court overturned the financial judgment in August 2025. James defeated Republican candidate Saritha Komatireddy in the November 3 election, securing another term as New York's attorney general. Her latest comments suggest that she intends to continue her aggressive approach to enforcing the law.
