Our history is not your sporting banter, and our identity as tangata whenua is not up for debate because your team lost a rugby match. Samoa has Samoa. Tonga has Tonga. Fiji has Fiji. Aotearoa has Māori as tangata whenua. You can be proud of your own people, your own island and your own team without disrespecting ours. The scoreboard doesn’t determine our identity.
