I met this little fox back in June, and I had no idea how much he would come to mean to me. 🦊❤️ Living in London, I’ve witnessed firsthand how difficult life can be for urban foxes. I’ve seen them chased, had things thrown at them, and even watched people attempt to kick them. It breaks my heart that animals simply trying to survive are treated with such cruelty. When I first met this little guy, he was skinny, scruffy and looked like he’d had a pretty tough time. He kept coming back to me, and I couldn’t bring myself to turn him away. I know feeding wild foxes and encouraging close contact is generally discouraged, and I completely understand why. I’ve always tried to be mindful of that, keeping our interactions limited and allowing him to remain wild, forage naturally and live independently. But somewhere along the way, we developed this beautiful little bond. Over the months, I’ve watched him grow stronger, his coat become fuller, and his confidence blossom. I can’t take credit for all of that, but seeing him looking so much healthier and happier now genuinely means the world to me. I wanted to share his story as a little reminder that we share our streets with wildlife who are just trying to survive, too. Foxes aren’t just pests or nuisances. They’re intelligent, resilient animals who deserve kindness and respect. You don’t have to feed them, touch them or even like them. But please, at the very least, be kind to them.
