When I was in Vietnam in 1963 was a Marine Corps we were using World War II and Korean War equipment. Of course the army had the new stuff. The food we ate out of the cans was from the Korea war. If you ever saw that movie “the pacific“.? Much of the same gear they had than we used in Vietnam.

Being a Vietnam veteran, I can tell you those helmets were the most useless piece of merchandise that we get to put on our bodies. They protected nothing. They were happy they wobble and something went off like an explosion near you the fourth that would go into the helmet would rip your head up.
