Kenya has witnessed some shocking criminal cases resulting in extraordinary prison sentences of 200 years. One such case involved Lukas Misati, a man from Kisii County who was sentenced to 200 years in prison in August 2018 after being convicted over the brutal deaths of his four children. The tragic incident happened in November 2012 in Egesa village, Kitutu Chache Central, Kisii County. According to court proceedings, Misati had a disagreement with his wife, Helen Kemunto, over moving houses and rent arrears. The disagreement reportedly turned violent, and his wife managed to escape after being attacked. When she returned the following morning, her four children were missing. Tragically, all four were later found dead. In August 2018, the court sentenced Misati to 50 years for each of the four counts, bringing his total sentence to 200 years in prison. But Misati is not the only Kenyan whose name has been associated with a 200-year prison sentence. Pastor Paul Mackenzie also received a 200-year sentence in the Shakahola case.
