🚨 THE NIGHT BEFORE DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. WAS ASSASSINATED… HE SPOKE WORDS THAT STILL SEND CHILLS DOWN OUR SPINES. 💔🙏🏾 On April 3, 1968, Dr. King stood before a crowd in Memphis, Tennessee, and delivered what would become his final speech, “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop.” Then came these unforgettable words: 🗣️ “I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I’m not concerned about that now. I just want to do God’s will.” He went on to say that God had allowed him to go up to the mountain and see the Promised Land. He acknowledged that he might not get there with his people. 💔 LESS THAN 24 HOURS LATER, DR. KING WAS ASSASSINATED. April 4, 1968. Memphis, Tennessee. He was only 39 years old. What makes this moment so powerful is that Dr. King spoke about death, destiny, faith, and God’s will without knowing that these would be his final public words. Some hear a man who sensed his time was near. Others hear a man who had made peace with the risks of his calling. But one thing is undeniable… THE DREAM DIDN’T DIE WHEN THE DREAMER DID. ✊🏾 58 years later, his voice still echoes around the world. 🕊️ REST IN POWER, DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. (1929–1968) 🙏🏾 If his words still move you today, leave a ❤️ and share this powerful piece of history. #MartinLutherKingJr #MLK #MountaintopSpeech #BlackHistory #CivilRightsMovement
