A Testimony of our Faith in God! ✝️ ⚠️TRIGGER WARNING: Child medical emergencies, hospitalization, and photographs.⚠️ Please feel free to scroll past. We completely understand. 💙 A story not everyone knows. One that changed us forever. When you look at Tate today, you see a happy, energetic, strong-willed, silly little boy who loves life, keeps us on our toes, and fills our home with so much personality. What many people don't know is just how difficult the beginning of his life was. Tate was born at 36 weeks. At birth he was diagnosed with 3 conditions: laryngomalacia, tracheomalacia, and severe acid reflux. These conditions affected his airway, breathing, and ability to manage reflux. At just 3 months old, our world became something we never expected. Tate experienced severe choking episodes that resulted in THREE separate admissions, 25 days total. Some of the hardest moments didn't even happen inside the hospital. They happened at home. Watching our baby choke, stop breathing, and turn blue. His final hospital stay came after a severe episode when we had to call 911 and Tate transported to the hospital by ambulance. There are no words to describe the fear of watching your child struggle to breathe. There is no preparation for the helplessness you feel when all you want to do is take away their pain and make them okay. There were tests, procedures, monitoring, and moments when we didn't know what the next day would bring. We remember the fear. We remember the tears. We remember the prayers. And oh, how we prayed! Chris and I fell to our knees, begging God to save our baby boy. There were times we collapsed onto the floor after receiving test results, crying and pleading with God to please help our son. We didn't always understand what was happening. We didn't always know what the answers would be. But we continued to pray. We are forever grateful for the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff who cared for Tate and worked tirelessly to find answers. Eventually, a treatment plan was established that stopped those severe choking episodes. We truly believe God worked through those people to help our little boy. Thankfully, he has come such a long way! His journey hasn't been completely without challenges. He still requires multiple daily medications, and continuing appointments with specialist. We are still advocating for him and making sure he receives the care he needs. But look at him now! That tiny baby who once spent so much time in hospital rooms is now a thriving, playful, determined three-year-old. Sometimes we look at him running around, laughing, playing, and being his wonderfully wild little self, and we're reminded of all the ordinary moments we once prayed so desperately to have. We don't share this for sympathy. We share it because childhood medical struggles aren't always visible. Because not every parent gets to talk about the frightening parts of their child's beginning. And because we want to raise awareness about conditions that many people may have never even heard of. Most importantly, we share it because Tate's story is a reminder of God's faithfulness, the power of prayer, and the strength of a little boy who has already overcome so much. -Tate, you may never remember those first few months, but we will never forget them. You will never know how many tears were shed over you, how many prayers were whispered for you, or how many times we begged God to let us keep watching you grow. You are so much more than what you went through. You are our answered prayers. Our greatest blessing. And one of the sweetest reminders of God's goodness in our lives. We are so proud to be your parents. Your story didn't end in those hospital rooms, sweet boy. It was only the beginning. We love you beyond words. Always and forever. 💙 #MichaelTate #fyp
