Some people say rejecting hadith is following your whims and desires. But I could argue the opposite. Not praying on my period meant I got to sleep in and not structure my day around Salah. Instead, I missed Allah. My desire is to be close to Him, and Salah is what keeps me close. I felt the disconnect, and so have other Muslims I've spoken to. 🤍 I also think about the society the Quran was revealed to, one that buried baby girls alive. The hadith were written down generations later in that same kind of society, and misogyny still exists in the Ummah today. So I personally believe this is probably fabricated. This is my experience, not a ruling. I haven't thrown out hadith, I explored them, and this is where I landed. Do what's right for you, and if this isn't for you, keep scrolling.
