Local outlets Fox 5 Vegas, KTNV and KSNV reported on Friday, Nov. 6, that Sanft was found d*ad in his Las Vegas home. Sanft’s cause and manner of death are still pending, KTNV reported, citing the coroner’s office. The outlet added that because it is a high-profile death, homicide detectives are investigating. They have been looking at surveillance footage and screening for dr*gs, according to the report. PEOPLE reached out to the coroner’s office and Las Vegas police for comment but did not get immediate responses. Sanft took Davis’ case pro bono. He was the third lawyer to represent him. In August, a jury found Davis guilty of mrder with the use of a deadly wepon in the 1996 k*lling of Tupac Shakur. On Oct. 13, Davis, 63, was sentenced to 40 years to life in a Nevada prison. After the sentencing, Sanft told Fox 5 Vegas he would not have done anything differently. “I hate losing,” he said, adding that he was disappointed because he did not believe the jury gave the case its proper due.
