Priority things I do on my first full day in Japan ⤵️ I come to Japan pretty often now, and I realize that there are some things I always do on my first day back. Here’s what I do and why: ✅ Exchange money for yen — I typically go to 7/11 and grab cash to have on hand just in case I visit places that don’t take cards. ✅ Grab a vitamin C drink and fiber jelly — to support my immune system after a long flight ✅ Grab daypack essentials — snacks, my favorite Japanese mints, hand lotion & cough drops are essential! Btw, if you are sensitive (allergy-wise), I highly recommend keeping cough drops in your daypack. I’m allergic to dust and sometimes I’ll feel a cough attack about to start.. but having cough drops immediately helps! And it’s great because then you don’t have to worry about a cough attack on a crowded (& extremely quiet!) Japanese train ride. ✅ Stop at Muji and Tomod’s for toiletries/beauty basics — because I always forget something! I never sweat it, though, because I know that Japan’s beauty basics are amazing. Everything from their face washes, sunscreens, hair products, and more. ✅ Purchase and reserve seats for any Shinkansen or Limited Express trains I plan to take — you can totally do this online as well (& honestly, if it’s your first time coming to Japan, it might be easier!) but I like having physical tickets. I also have gotten good(-ish) at using the ticket machines. An alternative to using the ticket machines or buying tickets online is to go to the ticket offices in person and have them help you buy or reserve seats. I like doing this when I’m with a big group or have oversized luggage, because it’s much faster and easier for them to find the right seats for my needs. ✅ Grab samplers of Japanese shampoos and conditioners I want to try — I love that Japan has this because it allows you to try the product before fully committing to a full bottle for home. I hope this video reaches the right people and that you found it helpful?? 🩵 Check out my Patreon page (link in bio) for a full recap of everything I purchased on this day. ➡️ Follow me (@remishimazu) for more Japan travel tips and guides. ✨ #japantravelguide #japantrip #japantraveltips
