@christopherhopkins1: Italian Beef and Sausage Bowties in Velveeta Tomato Cream Ingredients: 1 lb bowtie (farfalle) pasta 1 lb ground beef 3/4 lb beef Italian sausage, casings removed 1 tbsp olive oil 1 yellow onion, finely diced 6 garlic cloves, minced 1 tsp Italian seasoning 1 tsp fennel seeds, lightly crushed 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp black pepper 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce 1 cup heavy cream 12 oz Velveeta, cubed 1/2 cup reserved pasta water 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley Directions: Boil the bowties in salted water until tender with a little bite. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain. Heat the olive oil in a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the beef and sausage together undisturbed until dark crumbles with caramelized edges form, breaking the sausage into uneven pieces. Drain excess fat. Add the onion and cook until soft, then stir in the garlic, Italian seasoning, fennel seeds, salt, and pepper for 1 minute. Pour in the marinara and heavy cream and simmer 5 minutes. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the Velveeta a few cubes at a time until fully melted into a thick, glossy orange-red sauce. Add the bowties and toss until every fold is filled with sauce, loosening with pasta water as needed. Let the pasta sit off the heat 2 minutes so the sauce thickens and clings. Heap into deep white bowls, letting the sauce drip naturally down the sides. Finish with parsley. Cooking Time: 40 minutes | Servings: 6 | Calories: 960 per serving
