@japdmedia26: Washington, DC, United States 🇺🇸 — House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries has rejected the possibility of working with Stephen Miller following President Donald Trump's decision to appoint him as the new White House chief of staff. Speaking Sunday on ABC's This Week, Jeffries criticized Trump's decision to replace Susie Wiles with Miller, describing the appointment as an irresponsible move. "There’s not going to be any opportunity, certainly, to work with Stephen Miller and what he represents," Jeffries said. Miller, a longtime Trump adviser and leading architect of the administration's immigration policies, is expected to assume the position on November 9. Jeffries also accused Miller of being responsible for policies that have resulted in the deaths of American citizens, including Alex Pretti and Renee Nicole Good. The Democratic leader said his party would use its incoming congressional majorities to challenge the administration's policies and provide what he described as a "firewall" against Trump's agenda. Meanwhile, Jeffries announced support for a proposed impeachment resolution against Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, introduced by Republican Congressman Thomas Massie. "I'm a hard Yes on the Hegseth resolution," Jeffries said. He argued that Hegseth had abused his power and mishandled the war involving Iran. Jeffries also predicted that the resolution would receive strong Democratic support. Massie was expected to introduce the impeachment resolution as early as Monday, November 9. However, no impeachment vote had taken place at the time of the interview. The political confrontation comes after Democrats' victories in the November 3 midterm elections, which put them in position to take control of both chambers of Congress in January. The big question is whether the incoming Democratic-controlled Congress will succeed in blocking Trump's agenda or trigger an even bigger political confrontation in Washington. #HakeemJeffries #StephenMiller #DonaldTrump #USPolitics #japd
