Yes thank you for making a video on this! I posted one yesterday also, it would likely weaken the section 106 process which state and non recognized tribes from becoming consulting parties! The Senate is ALSO voting on S.5653, a permitting bill that would gut the protections that keep wild animals from being pushed to extinction, THIS MONDAY. It would speed up and cut short the reviews that stop federally approved projects from destroying critical habitat. It would also weaken the Clean Water Act. The beneficiaries are fossil fuel companies and big developers. Red and Mexican grey wolves, monarchs, manatees, grizzlies and countless other species would pay the price.
For more than 50 years, the Endangered Species Act has brought bald eagles, humpback whales, and American alligators back from the brink. Gutting it now, in the middle of a biodiversity crisis, would be a disaster.
📞 Call your U.S. Senators now: 202-224-3121
Ask the Capitol Switchboard to connect you to your Senators, then say: “I’m a constituent, and I urge Senator [NAME] to vote NO on S.5653 and NO on BAAJA. Don’t weaken Tribal sovereignty and the Endangered Species Act.” It takes two minutes. Call BOTH of your senators TODAY! 🐻🐋🦋
