Bryan Charnley: Self-Portraits of a Schizophrenic Mind.#history Bryan Charnley had faced many difficulties since his childhood. He had been experiencing attacks at a young age. When schizophrenia was added to this condition, he encountered incredible challenges in his life. Bryan Charnley decided to keep a journal through his paintings. The artist planned to capture the essence of his illness by creating experimental works with various doses of medication. As a result of stopping his medication, he began to paint himself for months and, in 1991, he created his final self-portrait before ending his life at the age of 42. Due to the effects of the medication he stopped taking, Bryan Charnley made different interpretations of the paintings he created. Here are some of them:

"Perhaps the culprit is a broken heart. Its pain is obvious."
