As of Today Jan 1 2026 it's illegal to install 410A equipment (exception for some VRF/VRV and package units). The EPA stated enforcement is low priority. The AIM act lists the EPA as the administrator for this law. To meet those deadlines the EPA outlined regulations to meet the deadlines outlined by this law. In October the EPA proposed extending the installation deadline and took public comment. This will not allow new equipment to be made but allow existing equipment to be sold.
