The thing is, it didn’t scare me because I had already unraveled the auto immune and understood there would be deeper and more subtle work along the path, I was already surrendered to that which made it easier. But I know what it feels like to just split, to snap, to become someone you don’t even recognize, to have allll these coping mechanisms and not even realize them for what they are: implicit memory stored in the body. No, I was not formally diagnosed, but having a mother with BPD I was very certain that I was exhibiting all of the classic symptoms and that seeing a doctor would only lead to lifelong psychiatric drugs, which I knew I would refuse. I had one choice: heal it yourself.
